But we face stressors daily. These chemical, physical and mental stressors can cause bony misalignments and tension in the spinal cord which persist leading to problems associated with imbalanced posture and abnormal functioning of the body.
Health problems and symptoms like pain can follow. Pain is the fire alarm in our body, alerting us to a “fire” so we can do something about it. But pain that doesn’t go away is common, but not normal.
All these ultimately prevent us from doing the things we enjoy and impact our quality of life.
Chiropractic care is designed to locate and analyze these areas of dysfunction in the spine and nervous system and remove these interferences to normal body function.
Look, feel and function better.
Chiropractic can help— whether you simply want to maintain your health, or have had injuries, or developed chronic problems like neck and back pain, headaches, bulging discs, sciatica and more.
Safe and effective, with no twisting or cracking.
We use gentle and specific neurological-based chiropractic corrections to realign and rebalance the spine, muscles and tone of the nervous system.

Chiropractic (ˌkaɪrəʊˈpræktɪk) has come a long way since DD Palmer’s first adjustment on September 18 1895 in Iowa, USA. The word “chiropractic” comes from the Greek words, Cheir (Hand) and Praktos (Done), meaning “done by hand”. Since then, countless people have benefited from chiropractic care.
Chiropractic is taught in colleges around the world and now there are over 100,000 chiropractors in more than 80 countries. The study and practice of chiropractic keeps advancing, from the development of new techniques and equipment, to research into the efficacy and effectiveness of chiropractic care.
Chiropractic started and continues today because it works.
Did you know? The term “vertebral subluxation” is commonly used in chiropractic and occurs when a spinal misalignment affects the communication between the brain and body. “Luxation” means dislocation, and “subluxation” with the prefix “sub” means “less than” a dislocation.
1. What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic care is designed to locate and analyze areas of dysfunction in the spine and nervous system and remove these interferences to normal body function. Think of the scope of chiropractic as the scope of the nervous system.
2. How is it different from medicine, physiotherapy or osteopathy?
Each field holds a different piece of the puzzle that is the human body. Depending on the school and country of training and practice, the scope of practice will differ.
3. I have aches and pain, how can chiropractic help me?
Many people have found relief for their aches and pain with chiropractic care. Chiropractic helps in removing joint restriction, reducing nerve interference, restoring brain-body communication, and more.
4. I have no aches or pain, why should I see a chiropractor?
Dysfunction in the spine and nervous system may not always result in symptoms like pain, yet affect how the body functions. Pain and degeneration happen over time. To know if you have such a dysfunction that you can do without, get your spine checked by a chiropractor.
5. What do you adjust?
Apart from the spine, we also adjust parts of the skull and extremities like wrists and ankles as clinically indicated.
6. How can babies and children benefit from chiropractic care?
Childbirth is traumatic not just for mum but also for baby with the tugging and pulling of the head. And children have many falls, twists and bumps as they experience and interact with the world. It’s good to have their spines checked.
7. How can expectant mums benefit from chiropractic care?
Plenty, how does a smoother and more comfortable pregnancy and delivery sound?
8. How can older adults benefit from chiropractic care?
Chiropractic can help older adults live independently, look after themselves and preserve their health for longer.
9. How can sports people benefit from chiropractic care?
Whether it is improving strength, control, or range of motion, chiropractic can help improve your game.
10. My head is forward. / My shoulder/hip is tilted. / My feet are flared. Is this a problem and how can chiropractic care help?
Postural imbalances are common but not normal. Like scoliosis, there are many causes of poor posture, which we may be able to determine with x-ray imaging or functional testing. Depending on the type, chiropractic may be able to help, especially in tandem with active and passive stretching and ergonomic changes.
11. Is this an online or physical booking?
This is NOT an online consultation, but a physical booking in our office in Singapore. Upon purchase, reach out to us via email at email@example.com or Whatsapp/text us at +65 8883 4712 to schedule your first appointment.
12. Can I come in the office just for relief? How soon can I expect to get relief?
Sure! The type of chiropractic care (relief, corrective or wellness) and how often or how long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you. The time it takes for relief will depend on how severe or how long you have had the issue.
13. What can I do to get faster relief and better? Why are lifestyle changes important?
Chiropractic is one piece of the puzzle which together with other health-building habits, allow for maximum healing and optimal health. We will make home care recommendations (including active and passive stretches) to accelerate the healing process.
14. Does this go on forever?
Yes and no.
Yes – You take care of your teeth by brushing it daily and getting it checked by a dentist. By extension, it makes sense to take care of your spine daily and get it checked by a chiropractor. Your spine, and nervous system, is not any less important than your teeth (we say, maybe even more).
The type of chiropractic care (relief, corrective or wellness) and how often or how long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you. Health is something you build every day, not seek it when its lost.
No – Here at Thrive Chiropractic, we want for you to enjoy better and longer-lasting adjustments. We hope to help you adapt and thrive better, allowing for more time in between spinal checks.
